PRESIDENT MESSAGE
Dr. Monali Sahu
A warm
welcome to all!
At the outset, I must appreciate the efforts of all my forerunners, whose vision and foresight resulted in strengthening the spirits of The Nephrology Society (TNS) members to a new level. I also take this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks to the TNS fraternity, for their continued belief in progression, believing in me and giving me the position of President for year 2023-24.
The society’s commitment to excellence and distinction has been instrumental in shaping its illustrious reputation with every member being persistently passionate about precision and introducing the best practices and upskilling its members to meet the demands of evolving technology for renal health management in Central India.
Our members from all parts of central India are of significant importance as they provide a localized presence, promote knowledge sharing & professional growth, and foster networking opportunities. They are instrumental in realizing TNS objectives and ensuring the overall development of nephrology services in respective parts of central India.
So much has been done in the past and a lot more is to be achieved, as we enter a new world full of opportunities. This is the time to appreciate all that we possess. Let us continue our teamwork to add pleasantness in our society. All members are thus urged to contribute their best towards education and social welfare, in the best of their capacities.
I am pleased to inform you that the website will get redesigned with a view to make it user-friendly, with links available for all academic programs, cloud storage of doctors’, public, and technician’s education, details of all dialysis centers available in the region with locations marked and much more.
Let’s make TNS actively involved in promoting and supporting kidney health, recognizing CKD at the earliest. TNS will be extending all cooperation to other societies, institutes, or NGOs working for the same goal. Let’s strategize projects for CKD early detection with research purposes. We will be having monthly meets with case-based discussions and with quarterly journal reviews of what’s new in Nephrology. Another important subject to be discussed & executed is making registries for patients with CKD, renal biopsy and transplant.
On the academic front, some of the major CMEs planned this year include transplantation immunology, nephron-pathology, and Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) CME plus workshop. For dialysis technicians, there will be a program to update their knowledge and skills in HD, CRRT, and training in online hemodiafiltration.
Dear members of the society, let’s set new goals, forge new paths with a renewed perspective for the profession, and help build a community for kidney health management focussing on ‘the prevention of kidney diseases, with our mission of ‘Good health for all’ and vision being
‘सर्वजन हिताय सर्वजन सुखाय’
I look forward to the whole hearted cooperation and support in carrying forward the legacy of our beloved organisation.
Dr Monali Sahu
